Conference Details

54th Guild Conference 20th Ė 22nd October 2017

Guild members and their partners are invited to attend the 54th conference weekend. The booking forms for the conference are in the ??? newsletter, but should you wish to download the booking form then a copy has been put on the web site in the Members Area; this needs to be returned to Joe Lee with £12 per person conference fee.

Once more it is at the West Retford Hotel (Best Western), Retford, Notts; this hotel has a large accommodation block across the car park with all the functions in the main hotel. The cost for the weekend, which includes dinner on Friday and Saturday, and Saturday Lunch, is £178.00pp.

This year's programme is as packed as ever; the weekend starts on Friday evening with a home-made wine & beer reception of placed aperitif wines from the 2017 National Show, and a beer brewed by Colin Tweed. This will be followed by an evening meal with wines provided by some of our members to accompany each course. Please also feel free to bring your own home made wines and beers to finish the evening. (NO COMMERCIAL CORKS OR LABELS). 

The first session on Saturday morning is the beer tasting, conducted by Richard Baldwin and his team of beer makers. After coffee, John Scottow will present a wine tasting. The wine and beer assessment will take place after lunch conducted by Elaine Robinson. Please bring your tasting lasses to each event.

The AGM is on Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm; remember that this is your chance to voice your views.

The wine is Table Dry Red, and the beer is a Porter (2 x 1 pint bottles required). There is a claret jug and a tankard to be won.

Please remember, that you must book very early to avoid disappointment; the hotel is very busy in October with weddings and other guests. So letís make this Conference extra special, and one that we will always remember.
